Open Primaries: Hacks Lose and Voters Win

Open Primaries for ChesCo Treasurer and for ChesCo County Clerk of Courts means the incompetent hacks who, in 2006 Special Election,  gave us  ‘moderate’, pro-choice, and loser,  Carol Aichele as a for State Senate candidate and managed to lose Chester County to Democratic and very liberal, Leftist State Senator and West Chester University political science professor, Andy Dinniman and then, in 2008, Chester County voted Democratic for first time since Civil War and the Democrats now have three House members, Tim Houghton, Paul Drucker and Barbara McIlvaine Smith. Republican Committeeman, the practical Karl Bucus gives a detailed report and The Bulletin’s Bradley Vasoli sums it succinctly.

Chesco “At Great Valley High School Wednesday night, the Republican Committee of Chester County (RCCC) recommended two candidates for clerk of courts and treasurer. Over 350 Republican committee members voted on whether to endorse Bob Knecht, Frank McElwaine or incumbent Teena Peters for clerk of courts. Mr. Knecht came in far behind on the first vote, though two subsequent votes failed to produce the 216 ballots needed for either Mr. McElwaine or Ms. Peters. The two will head into the May 19 primary as the GOP’s “recommended” candidates.”

    Thanks for the link, Bob.

And thanks for calling me practical. It’s a compliment from you, and since we only agree 87% of the time, I know you occasionally have more savory names for me!
