The US is Growing and the Suburbs are Adding Jobs. Philadelphia Continues to Lose Jobs

The US is growing and the suburbs are adding jobs. Philadelphia continues to lose jobs. The graphs comparing Philadelphia with the nation as a whole and with surrounding suburbs tell a story. See for yourself at the graphs are put up as images on Philadelphia Forwards website

This is an example of the kind of advocacy and analysis that the steady, persistent Brett Mandel, Executive Director of Philadelphia ForwardBrett walks the reader through the evidence that lower taxes grow the economy of  Philadelphia whose job growth lags the adjacent which were, until recently, Republican controlled, and to which Philadelphia’s middle class is migrating. Much of the highly educated and high earning elites, Democratic and Republican live in the fast growing suburbs. It does not have to be this way. Philadelphia is a treasure of educational, medical, cultural institutions and it is a treasure we are squandering.

And, for those of you interested in open spaces and the environment, or say you are,  Philadelphia is ‘sprawling’ and, what happens to  Philadelphia’s economy  impacts us all.
