Polls show Specter Staring at ‘Near Fatal’ 31% Re-election Figure

Only 31 percent of Pennsylvania voters believe Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter should be re-elected, and 59 percent believe it’s time to give someone else a chance, a state poll released today shows…A Susquehanna Poll in February found 38 percent of Pennsylvanians believed Specter deserved to be re-elected.”

Susquehanna Statewide October 14th  and compare with  Quinnipiac Oct 1st.  Note the trend on Sen. Specter’s “Favorable/Unfavorable” and “Re-elect”.

Rasmussen Statewide Oct 14th   Note the polling on government run health care.

Favorable/Unfavorable:
Specter: 46%-52%
Toomey: 52%-27%
Sestak: 37%-34%

Gov-run health insurance option if it encouraged companies to drop private health insurance coverage for their workers?:
Favor: 23%
Oppose: 63%
 

 

Arlen Specter has been on all sides of the health care government option issue but, always, 24/7, centered on his own reelection and his own power, prestige and status and will say what he has to say to get reelected without fear of contradicting himself.
