Mark Kirk’s Statement on Iran House and Senate Bills
November 28th, 2009 | by BGuzzardi |
Please thank Representative Mark Kirk for his leadership on this issue. I am very scared. This is all going in the wrong direction and the Administration and the Leftist Democrats are blocking this important initiative.

Subject: Kirk Statement on Iran
Congressman Kirk issued the following statement in response to Iran’s concealment of an underground uranium enrichment facility:
“The U.S., France and Britain announced today that Iran lied again, this time concealing the construction of an underground uranium enrichment facility outside Qum.
“It is time for the House to move the Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act (H.R. 2194) to the floor next week. I introduced this sanctions plan four years ago because Iran depends on imported gasoline for up to 40% of its needs. A gasoline quarantine is the sanction that will actually work.
“This legislation has 312 cosponsors in the House and 75 cosponsors in the Senate (S. 908). With House passage of the legislation next week, the stage will be set for a more effective “dialogue with teeth” between our allies and the Iranians.”
