Representative Joe Sestak does not have to have more money than Senator Arlen Specter. Sestak needs to have enough money to get his message out. Sestak’s simple message is that he is a Principled Leftist and Arlen Specter has no principles other than to get re-elected. The evidence makes a credible case that Representative Sestak is right.
The haul is modest compared to the $1.6 that Sestak brought in between April and July. It puts him roughly $4 million behind rival U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter in the cash sweepstakes ahead of the Democratic primary next May.

For some reason, the word “principled” and “leftist” don’t seem to fit together too well according to my definition, which is entrenched in my brain since I left the “principled” Democrat party. Sestak is a “used to be” principled Democrat which he can no longer be or he will be rejected from his party just as the “pro-life” Democrats were and still are.
