Government Cartel Raises Milk Prices for Consumers

The Government sues the Government. A government cartel controls milk prices in Pennsylvania favoring producers over consumers, reducing competition and consumer choice.
The Forgotten Taxpayer cries for mercy. Substantively, lower milk prices mean it costs mothers less to feed their children and, actually, less to feed the rest of us. Pay less; live better. The consumer wins and has more money to spend on his or her own priorities not determined by government fiat.
Rendell and Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff filed a lawsuit last week in Commonwealth Court that challenges the Milk Marketing Board’s April 1 decision. The two said in the lawsuit the board’s 2-to-1 vote showed the panel was biased in favor of milk dealers, and argued that the panel ignored evidence and abused its discretion.
